We Want YOU to be a Docent

With spring right around the corner, we are looking for individuals who are interested in becoming a garden Docent. Volunteers need to be comfortable interacting with guests, comfortable being outdoors and walking on garden paths, and available to work on a regular weekly or bi-weekly basis. No previous teaching or garden knowledge is required, just a desire to learn about Japanese gardens and culture, and a willingness to share what you know with our guests. Remembering a Friend of the Gardens

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a dear friend, Sensei Nakashima. Sensei was instrumental in promoting Japanese culture throughout the Chicagoland area, including Anderson Japanese Gardens, through Ikebana and traditional Tea Ceremony. The skill and wisdom of her teaching lives on in her many students.
