Anderson Japanese Gardens Docent Recognized for Efforts with Alzheimer’s Association

We appreciate how much our docents go above and beyond to not only share the tranquil benefits of the Garden with our guests, but help spread its holistic effects outside the paths of our Garden. For the past two seasons, docent Randy Zimmerman (pictured) has been partnering with the Alzheimer’s Association to help provide guidance in how to be mindful in each moment to those suffering from the disease and their caregivers. Recently, Randy was asked to share the intervention model he developed at the Alzheimer’s Association conference/symposium at Chicago Botanic Garden this fall. Randy will adapt his model to the botanical garden setting and train seven facilitators who will lead groups the day of the symposium. Randy’s work has been recognized at the leading forefront of interventions in the Garden setting for Alzheimer’s patients and caregivers. Thank you, Randy, for sharing your talents – and congratulations!
