Harlan Jefferson featured at next week’s Tuesday Evening in the Gardens

Local artist Harlan Jefferson will be featured at the second Tuesday Evening in the Gardens performance on June 2. Another local favorite, The Vince Chiarelli Band, opens the evening beginning at 5:45 pm. Doors open at 5 pm and admission is free for members. First Tuesday Evening of the Season Kicks off Tonight

Despite the rain clouds that visited the Gardens earlier, Tuesday Evening in the Gardens will continue tonight. Bring your blankets, picnics and umbrellas (just in case) and join us. Veterans and Currently Serving Military Members Free on Memorial Day

As a thank you for the sacrifices our armed forces provide, veterans and currently serving military members receive free admission to the Garden on Memorial Day, May 25, during open hours. Thank you for all you do and have done for our country.

First Tuesday Evening Performance of 2015 season on May 26

The 2015 Season of Tuesday Evening in the Gardens kicks off on Tuesday, May 26. The performance features Long Shot opening for local Kelly Steward. Doors open at 5:00 pm and the Opening Act begins at 5:45 pm. Admission is free for members and for non-members adults are $5, teens are $3 and children 12 & under are free. Lecture tonight – May 21

Anderson Japanese Gardens will host Peter Ponzio this evening, Thursday, May 21 for his lecture, Koi & Culture. Ponzio will focus on the significance of Nishikigoi (koi) in Japanese culture. The discussion will include the varieties of koi and the conditions necessary for creating a healthy koi habitat (diet, pond size, water clarity, etc.). Mr. Ponzio will share photographs of award-winning koi, notable Japanese gardens and ponds, filtration systems, and koi nutrition. First Donation Day of the Season Today, May 21

Anderson Japanese Gardens’ first Donation Day of the 2015 season is today, May 21. Thanks to the generous support of sponsor PG Architecture Design/Build, admission fees are waived for guests during open hours today, but guests are encouraged to leave a donation to help support the on-going maintenance of the Garden.

Anderson Japanese Gardens was recently listed as a top attraction in Illinois according to an article published on Yahoo! Travel.
